Prizes

DecOval

As Art Deco begins to reemerge across the New York skyline after a long hibernation, DecOval merges those large architectural forms with the smaller scale of mid-century interiors.

Art Deco meets mid-century design in a compact sculptural lamp built around soft curves, texture, and warm ambient light. A two tiered PLA shade diffuses the light while retro copper-toned accents and tapered feet give the piece a warm metallic contrast.

Available with a USB-C rechargeable cordless setup or standard wired connection, it’s designed as an atmospheric accent for desks, shelves, and bedside spaces.

Dimensions: 10"L X 6" W X 8" H

Value: $125 Wireless/$150 Wired

Ammonite

Ammonite draws from the ancient fossils my earth science teacher father introduced me to as a child, translating their spiraling forms into layers of warm light.

A sculptural table lamp designed to shift with its surroundings. A textured shade diffuses a warm, ambient glow through its layered geometry. Available in a matte black or chrome colored base to match any space.Designed to be displayed upright or lengthwise, the lamp takes on a different character with each orientation. An inline dimmer switch provides adjustable illumination, moving easily from a subtle atmospheric glow to brighter ambient light.

Dimensions: Flat: 15''L X 3.5"W X 9.5" H, Upright: 12''L X 3.5''W X 14''H

Value: $135

SonnTag

Named for the German word for ‘Sunday,’ SonnTag is a subtle nod to the medieval European art I once struggled to write about in college German class now reimagined in modern materials.

A modern interpretation of stained glass, built around repeating geometry, texture, and warm ambient light. Intricate patterned panels form a cube framed by a black carbon fiber infused frame that gives the piece its architectural form.

When illuminated, the contrasting translucent panels diffuse the light at different intensities, revealing the layered topography and surface patterns. Available in USB-C rechargeable or standard wired connections

Dimensions: 5.5'' LWH

Value: $100

Through the collective efforts of artists, creatives, patrons, and community members, meaningful progress has been made toward making New York a more welcoming and supportive home for the API arts community. The impact of these efforts extends far beyond the arts, contributing to a city that is more inclusive, culturally vibrant, and connected.

Through this sweepstakes, we want to celebrate and give back to the community that continues to make this progress possible.

Funds generated through the sweepstakes will directly support Civil Art’s operations and programs, helping us provide meaningful opportunities, professional resources, and platforms for emerging API artists.

Civil Art dismantles barriers to professional success for API artists, art writers, and cultural professionals.

We function as connective tissue in the arts ecosystem, building the networks, providing the milestones, and creating the foundations that turn creative potential into lasting cultural leadership.

NEV LABS is a Brooklyn-based design studio exploring the intersection of light, material, and form. Experimental in process and functional by design, each work seeks to light the winding path between tradition and the modern age.

Officially founded by Rob Nevulis in 2025, NEV LABS is a New York design studio built around experimentation, unconventional craftsmanship, and the belief that the pieces we choose to surround ourselves with affect our deeper sense of space and self alike. Born from the early days of the Covid lockdown era, Rob used his own NYC apartment as a proving ground for how light could create a refuge for calmness and wellbeing in an increasingly uncertain world. Today, Nev Labs focuses on developing unique lighting, furniture, and utility pieces that intertwine function with aesthetics. As the studio grows, the goal remains simple: to create well-made, approachable pieces that elevate the mood and style of the places we call home..
